The works included soil nailing and slope stabilization to a landslide which occurred October 2013. There were logistical problems with drilling the nails from the road surface as we couldn’t access from below because of environmental controls. Gabion mattresses were filled and fixed to the nail fixed structure and no fines concrete backfilled the mattresses.
There was a further slip while the works were underway and Walsh proactively assisted with completing the works to the slip during the main Contract. The works were opened within programme and to the satisfaction of the Client.
