Project Details

Atkins/Gloucester Highways
15 weeks

The Brief

The works included demolition of the existing bridge, Installing a 1500 mm dia culvert pipe and then construction of reinforced concrete spandrel/wing walls, deck, and parapets.  New parapet railings were installed, a spray applied waterproofing system was applied to the new deck and then the carriageway kerbing and surfacing was reinstated.

The works were carried out within a road closure with pedestrian traffic maintained via a temporary footpath and footbridge over the river.

The existing river flows were dealt with by setting up temporary flow diversions and pumping.
