Jon Bird

Managing Director
Jon has been Managing Director of Walsh Construction since 2004 and is the majority shareholder of the company. His active involvement and ‘hands on’ approach to contract management and estimating, ensures that he keeps a tight rein on delivering a quality service from the design stage to contract completion. After working for thirty years in the construction industry, Jon has gained valuable experience which helps him to steer Walsh Construction towards continued growth and success. His wealth of experience of major public and private contracts includes Section 278 highways works, groundworks packages and general civils projects. jon.bird@walshconstruction.co.uk

Phil Crosby

Director
Phil has gained almost 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. He started his career as a site engineer, then progressed to Projects Manager at a local construction company. Phil joined the team as Contracts Manager and is now a Director and manages the majority of contracts ranging in value from £2k to £1m for both public and private clients. His proactive attitude and active involvement in Contract Management and estimating ensures that our clients are put first. Phil believes that quality and safety are fundamental to delivering first class contracts. Highly respected for his technical knowledge he provides the necessary support and guidance that our site teams need for the successful completion of projects. Qualified to NEBOSH and IOSH standards, Phil ensures that Health and Safety criteria onsite is achieved at all times. phil.crosby@walshconstruction.co.uk

Ben Holmes

Contract Manager
Ben is our highly qualified Contracts Manager, resident appointed person for lifting and temporary works coordinator. He has had a varied experience in the construction industry since the completion of his MEng in Civil Engineering. He has enjoyed working with clients from both public and private sectors and has worked for SME and international contractors. Ben deals with complex contracts and has a customer centered approach to all his work. He has managed mining and major earth work contracts, new major highways works, reinforced concrete structures and ground engineering as well as general heavy civils projects. Ben also ensures that our site training programme reaches the industry standard. His enthusiasm and willingness to share his technical knowledge, which has been built up through experience and education, makes him a capable and popular member of the team. Jason Grant

Works Manager
Jason has had over 20 years’ experience of working at Walsh Construction. He joined the team as a skilled labourer and now has the role of Works Manager. He is a capable, trustworthy, accomplished and proactive manager who is highly respected by staff and clients. He has a wealth of experience of all civils projects, particularly with road and drainage contracts. Jason has supervised contracts of up to £1million in value. He manages our site labour, ensuring that all projects follow the objectives of Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Furthermore, he organizes resources and liaises with clients to ensure the smooth running and completion of contracts within the time scale allowed.
