Existing gravel path was widened to 3m and a tarmac surface was prepared and laid. Access was only from each end of the 900m track so logistics of working were of prime importance. There were associated site clearance and concrete edgings to each side of the path. Ecological impact of the works on slow worms and glow worms were monitored and mitigation works to produce new habitats along the track were installed. The site was completed within tight time constraints of the school summer holidays.
